In relationship news, Midway Games – who brought us classics like Space Invaders, Mortal Kombat, Pac-Man and Tron – just took themselves off the market and decided to settle down with Warner Brothers, the only suitor willing to marry them despite their bad credit.
Back in May, Warner Brothers made an offer of $33 million dollars to purchase the bankrupt Midway Games. Not wanting to seem to eager, Midway decided to open things up for bidding and waited a month hoping for a bidding war. In a somewhat embarrassing turn of events, there wasn’t a single competitive offer. So, Midway ended the auction and graciously accepted the original offer.
