I’ve just started contributing articles to The Girls Entertainment Network created by Ms. Becky “Aktrez” Young on a monthly basis. My first one – a review of Order Up and a stance on why I hate the limitations of the “hardcore” and “casual” categories – is up and running on the site. Make sure you check it out and leave a comment.

The casual/hardcore argument is garbage. It’s the modern-day equivalent of the old Sega/Nintendo loyalty, which did everybody who maintained that stance a disservice. I love challenging games, but it comes down to two things in design: Is it simple enough to pick up and play? Is it fun? This looks to be a qualifier for both criteria.
