Found this nifty little history of power ups poster thingy this morning on Geekologie. I want it. In poster form. Right now. But I can’t seem to find it anywhere. If any of you folks figure out where you can buy a print, lemme know. All I can find are various versions of posters from that horrible movie version.

Speaking of power ups, you can buy your very own can of Nintendo Super Mario Power Up Energy Drink for just $2.95 from GK World. 3D Realms Releases Duke Nukem Trailer

Originally released in 1991 as a side-scroller for the PC, 3D Realms is giving Duke a makeover. When will it come out? Who knows? Here’s info from the 3D Realm site:

No, you cannot pre-order the game. If you see some online store saying “We are taking pre-orders”, they’re just trying to get your money (they usually also make up their own supposed “insider release date info”, too). There is no release date set, we are not taking pre-orders for the game. End of story.

Once we begin taking pre-orders, believe us, you’ll know about it.

The release date of this game is “When it’s done”. Anything else, and we mean anything else is someone’s speculation. There is no date. We don’t know any date. If you have a friend who claims they have “inside info”, or there’s some game news site, or some computer store at the mall who claims they know – they do not. They are making it up. There is no date. Period.

And yes, we know the game has taken a long time. There’s no possible joke you could make about the game’s development time that we haven’t already heard.

Kristin Kruek to Play Chun-Li

Smallville star Kristin Kruek has been cast as the thigh-tastic Chun-Li in the upcoming flick: Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li. Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak from a Justin Marks script, the action pic starts filming in Thailand in March, 2008 and focuses on Chun Li and her “journey for justice”. Ugh. I’m tired of video game turned movie bull crap. Didn’t they learn their lesson with Doom? Why can’t these writers/directors come up with something original for once? Eesh.
